By James Scott

Cramping around the groin can be so uncomfortable making a person unable to go about his daily activities. The discomfort can be caused by either falling, tumors, fractures, giving birth or dislocations. When the cramps become severe, pelvic pain cushion can work well to reduce the pangs. More so, the pillow is designed in a way that it reduces pressure around the pelvic region.

It is normally advisable to take the pillows with you to any place that you go. This is because this treatment needs consistency to work. For this reason, you can either buy different bumpers which you will in your car, workplace and home for convenience. Either way, you can use the same pillow everywhere provided you remember to carry it every morning.

Always ensure that you have sat on a chair that has a back. Use the pelvis bumper in the chair to give you extra support. This pillow works very well in improving your posture as it elevates your hips slightly. Therefore, a chair with a back will help you to sit upright and eliminate pressure in your groin and pelvis.

When using the buffer, do not place it on top of other pillows. If you place it on other pillows, it can make you sit unevenly. Thus the pressure will also be unevenly distributed leading to more pain in your groin. You can place the pillow flat or make it to slightly slant for better support.

Adding hot or physicians also recommend ice packs. This is a form of hot or cold therapy thus together with the bumpers; your tailbone area can be reduced of pressure. It is, however, important to ensure you have consulted your physician before you use them. Additionally, it is advisable to clan the pillows regularly.

If you feel that the pillow you have is not working effectively, make a point of acquiring a new buffer. This is because the buffer needs to be firm enough to support the weight of your back when you sit. Hence, select buffers that are made of foam that is denser to give you the support that you need.

Buying the pillow is quite a difficult task, and one should seek advice from his physician. There are different designs of the bumpers, for instance, the V-shaped, U-shaped and the doughnut ones. The V-shaped, as well as the U-shaped ones, are mostly for people with tailbone and pelvis pain thus they are more convenient. These are especially important after a person has given birth.

These pillows can be found in most drug stores or surgical supplies stores, but their prices tend to be high. Therefore, an average person may find them difficult to afford. In such an instance, one can look for the bumpers online and order for them as they tend to be cheaper. However, buying them from the pharmacy gives you the advantage of testing them physically and pick the one which you feel will be suitable for you.
