Options For Natural Dry Skin Treatment

Dry skin is flaky and itchy, calling for quick relief using methods that will not damage it at all. Science has confirmed that remedy for dryness does not necessarily lie in what you eat. The lotions, oils and creams applied determine appearance. The cloths you wear, air around and methods of cleaning have an impact. Just as people react to situations, skins react to food and substances applied. As such, dry skin treatment takes an individual approach. Here are options you should consider.

Everyone wants a hot shower because of the effect it has on your spirit. However, that could be the reason for unending dryness. Hot water has the detrimental effect of melting barriers made of natural oil on the surface. They keep the surface moist, soft and supple. Even the choice of warm water is not a reason to spend half a day showering. Take a maximum of five to ten minutes.

Use the healthy and recommended cleaning methods and products. Do not scrub with brutal force. Watch the creams and soaps used for showering. Additives like fragrances and antibacterial elements may damage more than heal. This is especially important for sensitive skins. Avoid toners, peels and astringents manufactured using alcohol because they will dry the skin.

How you shave determines the final appearance. The idea behind shaving is to remove unwanted hair. This also comes with scrapping of natural oils, especially if it is too close to the surface. Ensure that your hair is moist and pliable, especially after a shower. Flow with the direction of the hair to make the strokes as natural as possible. A blunt blade will cause more damage.

Cover up during hot weather. The sun drains a lot of water from your body. This leaves the cuticle dry and wrinkled. You may consider a broad range of sunscreens and also dress light yet cover the body. Use a hat and mask your lips with balm. The shirts for summer should be long sleeved and loose. Provide shade for your neck, eyes and ears when it gets hot.

Follow the recommended rules of moisturizing. Some of the products recommended are petroleum based jellies. You may also use mineral oils, lotions and creams that will not cause damage. You may also consider glycerin, stearic acid, shea butter and ceramides, among others. They work by providing cover and replenish the moisture barrier that exists naturally. When using sunscreens, ensure that SPF rating is 30 and above.

Eat food that is healthy for your skin. Processed foods contain chemicals that are likely to cause damage other than heal the coat. Some of the natural foods recommended include olive oil, pumpkins and papayas. You should also consider honey for incredible results.

Dryness is a sign of lack of fluids in the body. Taking enough liquids is regarded as an inside out formula for curing dryness. Take enough water and keep the body covered by all means. Dehydration will be shown by scaly and dry skin. Make your diet rich in unprocessed foods and plenty of fruits. Fatigue and stress are accelerators of dryness.
